CalCalc the small app I created

I’ve always been captivated by technology and have been endlessly curious about how things work. My fascination deepened when I discovered the apps on my iPod Touch. Although the selection was limited, it sparked a desire in me to understand their inner workings and to create my own app.

During my first year of college, I explored various interests but felt something was missing. My passion for app development never waned, so I decided to learn how to build and run a basic app. I discovered Flutter and Dart as potential tools, but I wanted to avoid learning an entirely new language from scratch, as I preferred to spend my holidays taking a break rather than in front of a screen.

I focused on learning the essentials needed for my app and sought guidance from a senior and a friend. Much of my learning came from YouTube, Stack Overflow, and GeeksforGeeks.

The app I developed features a homepage that displays the total number of calories consumed throughout the day, complete with a reset button to clear the count. The app includes a drawer menu with four options:

  1. Homepage

  2. Veg Food

  3. Non-Veg Food

  4. Game

In the Veg Food section, users can add or delete food items by entering their name and calorie content.

Clicking on a specific item will add its calories to the total displayed on the homepage.

The Non-Veg Food section functions similarly. Lastly, the app includes a motivational game reminiscent of Flappy Bird, where the objective is to navigate towards the "Health" side and avoid falling into the "Temptation" side.

Through this project, I was able to blend my passion for technology with practical skills, creating an app that not only tracks calories but also motivates users with a fun game. This journey has solidified my desire to continue exploring app development and has been a rewarding experience in learning and growth. I will also try uploading the app. Don’t forget to like and follow.

Enjoy learning.
